What’s New in SATK 7.0

All Processors

  • Groups are imported from SET cards in a selected Nastran .dat file.

Sine Processor
The sine processor has undergone a major overhaul and its interface is more intuitive.

Results

  • The sine processor now computes peak results over selected frequencies and load cases.
  • It writes results in binary output format (.op2 and .bun).
  • It outputs all its result types in FEMAP neutral format, without exception.
  • Results are written to formatted Excel XML workbooks.
  • Corner results are available or all elemental output requests.
  • More element types are supported.
  • The processor computes phase-consistent Von Mises stresses and strains.
  • Scalar margins of safety are available

Performance

  • The solver is parallelized (advanced license required).
  • Enhanced memory management supports very large .op2 files.

Laminates

  • The processor computes ply stresses and strains for 2D and 3D laminates.
  • The processor computes phase-consistent ply failure metrics for 2D and 3D laminates using proprietary algorithms for exact results (advanced license required). Computed metrics are:
    • Failure indices
    • Strength ratios
    • Margins of safety

Stress Processor
The stress processor has undergone a major overhaul and its interface is more intuitive.

Results

  • The stress processor writes results in binary output format (.op2 and .bun).
  • Results are written to formatted Excel XML workbooks.
  • More element types are supported.
  • Scalar margins of safety are available
  • Summary tables are generated by subcase and by stress case.
  • Graphical envelopes are generated by subcase
  • Critical stress cases and subcases are reported in the text and Excel files, and can also be post-processed graphically via the binary output.

Performance

  • Enhanced memory management supports very large .op2 files.

Laminates

  • Ply strains are output as well as ply stresses.
  • Critical plies are reported in the text and Excel files, and can also be post-processed graphically via the binary output.
  • The processor outputs ply failure metrics for 2D and 3D laminates:
    • Failure indices
    • Strength ratios
    • Margins of safety

Random Processor

  • The binary output option no longer requires an advanced license.
  • All output requests now support output to the FEMAP neutral file for the peak and positive crossings results.
  • The processor now supports CELAS3 and CELAS4 elements.
  • The margin of safety cutoff is now ignored while writing to the FEMAP neutral file: it now contains stress and margins results for all elements.

Supported NASTRAN Versions

  • NX NASTRAN 10.0, 10.1, 10.2, 11.0, 11.0.1 and 11.0.2
  • MSC NASTRAN 2016.0.0 and 2017.0.0
