RADARSAT Constellation Mission (RCM) satellites launch

This week, the three RADARSAT Constellation Mission (RCM) satellites are set to launch into orbit. This ambitious mission will provide coverage of 90% of the planet’s surface to deliver essential observation data on the Earth’s environment.

Together, these satellites will monitor many of Earth’s vital signs and give us a clearer picture of our planet. They will collect invaluable information needed to address challenges of key importance: from assessing climate change and the health of ecosystems to navigating arctic waterways, managing natural disasters and monitoring agricultural conditions such as soil moisture and crop growth.

The RCM satellites’ radar antennas provide an exceptional continuity of view, and will make it possible to monitor the Earth’s surface day and night, regardless of weather conditions. For the professionals who rely on the information being collected, it means they will have better access to valuable and accurate data.

Maya HTT is fiercely proud of its collaboration with Magellan Aerospace on this project and its contribution as the dedicated structural analysis team. Our team of experts supported the design process and validated the spacecraft’s structural design, ensuring its integrity with linear static, dynamic, acoustic, thermo-elastic and optimization simulations. They also defined subsystem environmental specifications and delivered the reduced spacecraft models for the launch vehicle coupled loads analysis performed by SpaceX.

As a partner in creating a better future, Maya HTT provided the reliability, authority and knowledge needed to successfully deliver on this project of key importance to Canadians. We are excited to see our ideas and expertise take off with the RCM launch on Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at 2:17 p.m. (UTC).
