Reporting to the Operations Director, the candidate will participate in algorithm development as well as building machine learning and predictive models for customers operating in various industries.

Job Description Summary:

  • Apply data exploration techniques to generate insights in order to help the decision process
  • Participate in the design, development, evaluation and monitoring of predictive models and advanced algorithms
  • Participate in data architecture decisions and collaborate with technology teams to implement models/algorithms in production systems
  • Document assumptions,  and methodologies to facilitate reviews
  • Carry out validation and testing to facilitate independent model validation
  • Responsible for data preparation, manipulation and maintenance of the data flow
  • In collaboration with management and clients, prepare financial projections of revenue based on numerous variables and data assumptions
  • Explore and examine data from multiple disparate sources
  • Translate complex analytical results into usable business initiatives including visualization and process optimization

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in an analytical or data-driven discipline (Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Engineering or other quantitative fields)
  • Ability to understand algorithms and methods both from a mathematical and a business-intuitive point of view
  • 5+ years of in-depth experience in predictive modelling through use of machine learning, leveraging large data environments, programming techniques and analytical methods to solve complex business problems
  • Significant experience in developing machine learning algorithms and in particular solving regression and classification machine learning problems
  • Experience deploying fully-developed machine learning solutions and with relational database management (SQL)
  • Experience in industrial settings is an asset (engineering, manufacturing, operations)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Highly organized self-starter who can take ownership of projects and act with little supervision
  • Collaborative team player, eager to learn from and share knowledge with colleagues
